Program Details

12-Week In-Class Sessions:

  • Obtain a higher level of ENglish (Level 7-10)
  • Improve skills in business communication, verbal and written correspondence
  • Learn workers’ rights and employment standards
  • Learn effective Canadian job search techniques including: cold calling, networking and interview skills
  • Prepare result-oriented resumes, cover and thank you letters
  • Use computer lab for on-line research, job search and ESL learning
  • Attend interesting field trips and job fairs
  • Receive Participation Certificate
  • Get referrals to appropriate services

10-Week Bridge-to-Work Placement:

  • Gain Canadian field related experience
  • Build professional networks
  • Obtain Canadian work references
  • Get referrals to potential job leads
  • Learn on-the-job Canadian workplace culture and business ethics
  • Workplace Safety Insurance Board (WSIB) coverage provided

Eligibility

  • Advanced English ​Skills
  • Landed Immigrant, Permanent Resident or Convention Refugee
  • Have relevant education and experience in their field
  • Job ready
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Internet and E-mail)
