Meagan Dogra stopped by Roots and Resilience to speak about the importance of safe and dignified access to much needed necessities for our community. Touching upon stigmas surrounding food insecurity and period poverty, Meagan explains how DBNC’s newest initiative, the Community Care Closet is so important and how she hopes to expand Closet operations in the future.
Meagan Dogra is the Community Resource Coordinator at DBNC. The Community Care Closet strives to provide dignified access to basic necessities like food, clothing, formula, diapers, and personal care products for lower-income families and individuals in the DBNC area. The Closet has established relationships with organizations like food banks, Haven on the Q, and The Period Purse.
