On July 30, 2022, DBNC celebrated the much-anticipated return of Summerfest! Our annual community event had to pivot to a virtual celebration for the last 2 years, following the COVID-19 pandemic, and it was never quite the same. Luckily, we were able to welcome our community in person at the Mississauga Valley Park this year, and what a turn out it was!

Attendees were able to enjoy amazing performances, face painting, informational booths, giveaways, and refreshments! The day was sunny and the energy was buzzing, as families gathered to enjoy our first in-person event since 2019!

OMNI TV, our Entertainment Sponsor, was on-site interviewing DBNC staff and clients for an upcoming segment. Our Refreshment Sponsor, Farm Boy, helped cool down our guests cool down with their array of beverages and snacks. Community organizations like MIAG, Region of Peel, Laadliyan, and East Mississauga Community Health Centre were present doing outreach work directly with our attendees. We even had a Vaccine Van at the event, providing first and second doses (as well as first and second booster shots.)

We want to send a special thank you to all of you who showed up, either as guests, partners, entertainers, volunteers or staff! We cannot stress this enough: Summerfest was a success because of each one of you. We hope to see you all back in 2023!
