Dixie Bloor Neighbourhood Centre offers a welcoming and safe place where people of all backgrounds can come together to receive the supports they need to acclimate to their lives in Canada.
We provide a wide variety of programs and services for newcomers, job seekers, families, youth, children, and seniors. We are mindful of the changing demographics in our agency’s service area and are committed to growing and adapting to meet these shifts. With almost 200 staff members and volunteers, we have 18 locations and provide services in 22 languages.
Newcomers to Canada
Our goal is to facilitate a smooth integration for newcomers of all ages to support their full participation in all aspects of life in Canada. We provide information on life in Canada and Ontario, the Canadian Education system, finding a physician, and knowing your rights and responsibilities. We can answer any questions you may have about life in Canada. Whether you are a youth, or senior, we offer services and resources for all.
Family Services
Our EarlyON program is a place where play-based learning environments inspire children and adults to explore and learn together. Families and children have access to high-quality early years programs, as well as programs that meet needs within the community. Children up to the age of six and their families socialize, play, explore and interact in environments where the principles of respect, responsibility and community guide each step. We also offer a Seniors Support Program which provides education, information and referrals for caregivers and their care recipients. It assists individuals by keeping them involved in their community and connected to resources that help them to maintain optimum health, quality of life and independence.
